When I’m dead I have no need for anything anymore they can take what they need as far as I’m concerned. If you were adamant you don’t want to donate, you will make sure you sign the register. At present, if you want to opt in its one of those things people will get round to, but never do. Why do they let next of kin overrule, though? It should be my decision and mine alone. Like me commenting on an Autism Elephant It’s ok to be a little different shirt about astrophysics. If I don’t know anything about it I’d just shut up. But, I am not in favor of the government or anyone else making assumptions about my consent on any topic. I offer an alternative compulsory declaration of preference which could be processed by an Autism Elephant It’s ok to be a little different shirt to applications for such things as passports, driving licenses etc whereby the application must include a statement of your preference if you have not already given it. This is the way to increase organ donors- everyone in unless they opt out. Other countries do this and it dramatically increases the number of donors.
